The company announced that it would charge £1,000 for a “name translation audit”, which involved checking the meaning of a prospective baby name in 100 languages.

“Suri [Cruise] means ‘pickpocket’ in Japanese, ‘turned sour’ in French and ‘horse mackerels’ in Italian.”
